Experience
~1999-2000 I was fixing and putting together computers at a friend’s company Compumaker S.A. Chief of support (only one in support team). Build computers, fix computers, deliver computers, install software, anti-viruses, customer support, etc etc.
~2000-2001 web developer at Digipront S.A., a small company with a few big projects. Mostly Windows, Frontpage, Classic ASP, MSAccess, MSSQL, Flash, little multimedia, a little PHP, a little linux.
~2000 with some friends we were hired to create software for a company TelePin of POS machines to distribute phone card numbers. DB’s, desktop transaction software, POS software, website with live stats, PHPGraph, live video feeds, …
~2002-2005 With a friend from school who was finishing Graphic Design studies in school we founded a small web development company Interactiva trying to emulate my last job’s formula. Web development, ASP/MSSQL/MSAccess, PHP/MySQL, multimedia, Flash presentations, online PDF creation, finance manager, pizza getter. We had a few good projects, like an oil refinery, Suzuki Guatemala, and others. Learned a lot about doing business and dealing with clients.
~2003-2004 worked part-time at Estudio9, a Video Production Company. Web and Flash development, PHP, ASP, simple design, Flash, Actionscript, etc.
~2003 created a website Losdelafoto.com, learned and tuned PHP skills. People can upload and share pictures, create folders, comments, flickr-like tags/boxes in photos, some other functionalities, some never published. Had about 4000 registered users, few of those active. Had a few thousands? visits/day on good times. Is temporarily down, has been taking too much time in admin of user policies. In remodeling. Participated in Arroba de Oro website contest in 2005, 2nd phase.
~2003-2005 because of TelePin we were hired to be part of a company doing the same in Honduras, Telecomunicaciones Nacionales S.A. Transactional software, web development, design, executive producer, account executive, trash picker, … Company was doing good except for hard competition in a very tight market. It eventually failed, but had a good run. One very good experience all that time trying to make something work and eventually leaving without any money. Good times.
~2006-2007 web developer at Biznet S.A. Small and some pretty important projects like big churches online catalogs, a United Nations related site, etc. Closed/open-source CMS management and development, eStores, online payments, catalogs, PHP/MySQL, ASP/MSSQL, Flash, web services, server admin winux and linux.
~2006 I was kindly asked to be a jury member in Arroba de Oro contest (hosted then by PrensaLibre.com). Some recognition 
~2007-2008 I was kindly asked to participate in Exponet 2007 and 2008 events and website contests by Prensalibre.com as a jury member and collaborator.
~2007-2008 from-home web development for Creative Benefit Services in Arizona, USA. PHP, CVS and textfile data management, web contents, DB’s, etc.
~2008-2010 from-home web development for OneMedia Works, Los Angeles, USA. PHP/MySQL, CMS management and development, AJAX, propietary systems development and management, Amazon API, eBay API, some WP, joomla, CRM’s, ticket systems, etc. One of the best jobs, with a really good boss.
~2010 Collaborated in TEDxGuatemalacity, first TED-like experience in Guatemala.
~2011 started website aquientrenos.org, a little attempt at transmitting knowledge and saving the world. Not done correctly, not sure what road it’s gonna take. Learned and practiced video producing and editing.
In the meantime I have given some small courses, like Flash for beginners at Escuela Nacional Central de Agricultura (ENCA), beginners PHP at Guatemalan National Science and Technology Counsel (CONCYT), some private courses on Flash, PHP, Photoshop, beginners or intermediate.
I have also worked freelance and have collaborated with friends’ projects, usually PHP or Flash web development, strategy planning. Directly on indirectly I am thankful that I have had the chance to do work for big and small projects, on big and small projects.

1998- Universidad Galileo, one course away from Electronics engineering degree and e-Commerce Master. Left studies for work and adventures. Currently returning.

I spend money and/or travel what’s necessary to learn about things I like.
I have played/worked with technology since I remember, even as a kid pulling things apart and back together with Legos.
